In my attempt to be as lazy as humanly possible today...

I watched My Strange Addiction.

About a lady who eat TOILET PAPER.   I thought that was terrible until the preview showed the next episode about a lady who eats the inside of couch cushions. WTF?!?

My question...how do you figure out that you WANT to eat toilet paper?

Needless to say- I felt better about myself after that. Lazy and all.

Every time I start watching that show I can't stop. It just draws me in. Kind of sad some of the stories that people have about their past, though. You get a little insight into how and/or why they suffer from these addictions.

I watched the toilet paper episode too.  Some of the items those people are eating are so bad I would think it would kill them.  Did you see the one where the lady sleeps with a hair dryer and now her daughter is getting into the same habit?

I've seen those episodes. Way weird! I guess some people have some really strange coping methods... who knows how they get started though. Wait until you see the one where the lady eats powdered laundry detergent... It makes her "feel clean inside." 

Interesting show.

Yes...the toilet paper lady was a pretty sad story. They didn't really say why she was eating toilet paper, though. Just that it started and now she can't stop.

I've never watched that show, but that is very bizarre. One of the teachers at my school used to eat cigarette butts and lick ashtrays when she was little. She said that she remembered craving the taste of the ashes. Turns out there was some nutrient that her body was deprived of and this was her body's way of helping her to get it. YIKES! It's crazy what the body will do.

OMG We were watching that last night.  This was seriously my face the whole time (with a little bit of thrown in).

Apparently DH saw a commercial for it a few days ago and was telling me about it, and I did NOT believe him.  I honestly thought he was fvcking with me (because he does it all the time because I'm gullible sometimes).  Yep.  Toilet paper.

I know it's not funny, and she is obviously struggling with it and it must be hard, but I couldn't help but LOL when her sister (or somebody) said that she needed to stop and it wasn't normal, and she said "You can't escape toilet paper!"

DH and I were saying that all last night.

I got so stuck on the toilet paper that I forgot about the hair dryer lady!

I love this show...and the show about extreme couponing. 

The ones before have been about people who eat laundry detergent and household cleansers like comet.  Also someone ate nothing but raw meat...ewww.

Yes it is on. She said that one time when she was 5-6 yr old, she couldn't sleep, so she got the hair dryer, turned it on, and the heat and sound soothed her to sleep. So she did it again the next night, then the next, etc. Now she cannot sleep without it.

Yes this show is really interesting and ironically enough,,,addicting!  I felt so sad for the lady that was eating cleanser and has to get like all of her top teeth removed because they were being eaten away by the chemicals.

And the chick that won't interact with people or talk to them without her puppets (she's a ventriloquist) was CREEPY.

I wish they would try harder to get the people into aftercare though, it seems like they are just left to their own devices after the show is taped.

DH and I just saw several episodes last night. The ventriloquist girl was really creepy. I'm generally creeped out by ventriloquists and dummies anyway, but she was especially odd.
