The day school I want Caroline to go to doesn't start until September...I was so hoping she could start before then, but apparently not.
Bless her heart...she never sees any other kids except when she goes to the gym day care (and there aren't always kids there). It is no wonder that everytime we see another kid in public she is completely fascinated with them and just stares.
I'm terrified that she is going to have a long, boring summer with nobody to play with except for boring old Mommy.
Poor kid...I know she is going to love it, and I hate that she can't go until September.
Re: Day School doesn't start until September?!?!?
What is a day school for a 1 year old?
And I am sure it won't be a long boring summer.
Tons and tons of kids grow up day in and day out at home with their mommies and don't count it boring (esp at this age).
It is a program at our local Methodist church. The little ones go two days a week from 9am to 1pm. A friend of mine sent all three of her girls and the absolutely loved it.
Alabama summers are just brutal...and we have to spend a lot of time indoors, because it is just too hot/humid to be outside. I'm beginning to think that we should move to a more temperate climate
That program sounds great! I am so thankful that DS goes to daycare two days a week. He does great there -- he eats and sleeps better there, and he loves playing with the other kids.
As for the weather, I'm finding the winter brutal. We've hardly been outside at all.
She couldn't start mid-year? Or does the program not actually start til Sept? Nicholas is going to Mothers Morning Out from 9-1 two days a week- he started last week for the "Winter/Spring Session". Most of the kids there started in Sept, but Nicholas joined in mid-year.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We live in a pretty small town, so we are pretty limited by what we have access to. No children's museum, no MDO, etc.
I was really counting on this day school thing...I'm going to try to get them on the phone this week and see if she can at least start in their 6 week summer session.
They don't have a summer session? Henry's MDO runs Sept-May, but they also have a six-week summer session.
Ah, you answered my question.
