Weaning and headaches

Please tell me this is normal and short-lived :)

Lucy is slowly self-weaning and yesterday was the first day that I haven't pumped at work.  I still nurse her before bed, in the morning, and once or twice overnight, (oh yeah, and before naptime if I am home) so we are far from being completely weaned, but yesterday and today I have a raging headache.  I am not trying to overplay it, but I seriously have never had pain like this before.  Tylenol is not even beginning to cut it.  I am thinking it may be hormonal due to weaning from the pump.  Any ideas or advice?  I don't do caffeine but I am about to try a regular coke to see if that will help at all, but I am open to any other suggestions to help it go away! Thanks ladies :)

Re: Weaning and headaches

  • I certainly hope, for your sake, that it's hormonal. That doesn't sound fun. I'd try a regular Coke for the caffeine.

  • I also have Excedrin Tension headache, which is just tylenol + caffeine (no aspirin).  Your headache sounds suspiciously hormonal - hopefully it will go away soon!
