June 2011 Moms

At the end of the day I am EXHAUSTED!! Anyone else?...

I work 8-4:30 in an office where (oh how lucky) my office is at the end of the hall and I see clients all day long... so I have to walk back and forth, back and forth all day long. Plus every client I see, I have to print applications and walk back down the hallway to get it. By the time 7-8pm rolls around I am SOO ready for bed and feel wiped out!! Anyone else ready to crash so early every night?

ETA: SOOO Glad it's a 3 day weekend :)

  • I am!  I teach high school and my hours are 7 to 3 and then come home to a 2.5 year old and am usually dozing off about 6:30/7 but don't actually go to bed until 9/10.

  • Oh I forgot to add that I am a fast walker so that probably doesn't help this whole situation! I realized this week I need to slow down some b/c I'm wearing down easier!

  • YES!  I am an elementary music teacher and if I am not entertaining, the kids get naughty :)  Plus, I have two rooms, one on the bottom floor of the school and one of the fourth...I do a lot of stairs.  At the end of the day I am a dish rag.  I am SOOOO glad it is a three day weekend too!

  • Exhausted is an understatement. I am a NP for trauma. I have already put 45 hours in this week and have to work tomorrow as well. I want to cry =(

  • Yes...I just get so tired so much easier now. I'm beyond exhausted right now. We just did a major cleaning of our house the last two nights because my parents are coming up for the weekend.  I'm starting to get cranky and be mean to MH.

  • I am beyond exhausted after work and I have a desk job where I sit most of the day (so what is my excuse?). By the time I pick my 3 y.o. up from preschool, I feel like I need a driver to take us home (our commute is about 1 hour with DC traffic). As soon as I drive home, I'm ready for a nap but still need to get through dinner and bathtime. I thought exhaustion ended in 2nd trimester!! What gives?
  • Yes, and I am nostalgic for the sit-on-my-butt-and-code job I had last pregnancy. Chasing a 32-lb toddler around all day is exhausting, and he goes like a wind-up-toy until at least 8:30 lately. I've gone to bed with DS twice this week, and was still tired when we woke up :(
  • End of the day? I'm exhausted at 1:00 in the afternoon. I'm in my classroom struggling to keep my eyes open everyday at 1.

  • I am with you. I'm up every day for work at 5:30am and I'm usually ready for bed by 9 pm. There are days here and there where I fall asleep at 8:30pm. I'm especially worn out whenever I fit exercise into the day, but I know it's good for me, so I'm keeping it up. I'm trying to enjoy being able to sleep because I know in just a few short months, sleep is going to be a memory. Wink

    BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!! :)
  • I hear you!  I teach middle school science - lots of hands on experiements, model building, etc which all takes a lot of energy (set up, patroling during class,  clean up and grading).  But my kids are so fun, it is all worth it.  Then after school, I have basketball - either games or practice.  My short days are 12 hours and the long ones are 16 hours.  It feels sooooo good to crawl into bed with DH at night.  But morning always comes to fast!!!

  • This was me through the whole 1st trimester. I've had a lot more energy lately. But, I've only been back at work for 1 week after being of for 3 weeks for the holidays--year round teaching is wonderful!

  • I am...but I think it's because I've been so busy at work!  Started last week with orientation for two new employees, I had several several interviews to arrange throughout the week (including a couple of video interviews and a couple offsite), still wrapping up year end stuff...going in today (shortly actally) to work out and get more work done.  Good times.
