Holy Cow doing IUI next week!!!! updated w/ b/w results from clomid test

So i never in my wildest dreams ever thought i'd be doing IUI! i'm still in shock that we're going to do this. I went to RE this morning to check follies from the clomid challenge test. i have one 18mm follie on my right and one 15.5mm on my left along w/ some other smaller ones. so the RE asked me if i wanted to try naturally or do IUI, i never even knew i had the option this cycle so i was shocked.
After discussing it w/ the RE we decided to do the IUI. One, b/c i'm horrified i'm going to get a YI from all the antibiotics i was on this week for all that testing, two, b/c it's only going to cost $350 and three, b/c there's a higher chance at pregnancy w/ IUI. HOWEVER, i know many of you ladies have done injections but this will be my first time and i'm scared to death! You should have seen me the first time i had to check my blood sugar when i had gestational diabetes. So i give myself the first shot of follistim tonight, tomorrow and sunday and go back on mon. to check the progress of the follies. and we'll most likely do the trigger shot on mon. and IUI on wed. EECK, i'm sooooo nervous but excited/scared nervous!

broken hearted, changed forever
i was thinking the same thing that we'd have to try on our own this cycle and wait for all the results before moving forward w/ a medicated cycle. i think that's why i'm still in shock. LOL i hope this does the trick too!
Hopefully i'm a good role model. LOL i may be crying though after these injections. i'm scared to death to do them. eeck!

I was really nervous about the injections...and I ended up making DH give me mine, but the needle really is small and painless. Make sure the alcohol is good and dry and be slow taking the needle in and out and you'll be fine. Awesome on doing an IUI this cycle too! Hope it works!!!
i think DH is going to give me the injections too. i'm just too scared to do it myself. i hope this IUI works too!
For me, it was the only way I was going to have them, although after he did it a few times...I think I could have done it myself. We found so that he could be easy with the needle, that it was best if I would "pinch my inch" (or more...hehehehe) for him and then all he had to worry about was getting the needle in and pushing the trigger. It really wasn't bad at all!
that was my thoughts exactly, i'd pinch and he'd poke. LOL!
Wow - what a nice surprise!! I am kind of confused about why they are having you switch from clomid to injects - I have seen lots of girls have IUI's with clomid only cycles. That's interesting.
Don't worry about the injects at all!!! I was so scared and they didn't hurt one bit. Seriously, not at all. I used follistim too.

i'm not sure either, i think she said something along the lines of if i was going to do IUI i should do the injects too, maybe for better timing purposes? not sure.
Good to know about the shots. i'm trying to prepare myself. We're waiting for DS to go to bed and then we'll do it. eeck.
