Is there anywhere I can go in Chicago to get U/S done anytime?

I'm a bit of a nervous reck. I constantly want to check on how my baby is doing and would like to get atleast an u/s done when I'm worried the most. Does anyone know where I can do that or even if I can do that?

I know there's a place in Lakeview called Goldenview Ultrasound, but I don't know if you can just make an appointment as often as you want. I also don't think it would be a good idea to get countless ultrasounds either....I know they're very safe, but I'm sure that's only to a certain extent.

I agree that getting countless u/s done is probably not the best idea.  You may be better off buying a doppler.  That way you can listen to the baby's heartbeat whenever you want and gain some peace of mind.

I agree with the other posters that getting an u/s done for peace of mind might not be a good idea.  On a personal note, my DS has developmental delays.  As his mother, I can't help but question EVERYTHING I did during my pregnancy with him.  I had about 6 or 7 u/s's done at my dr office early on in my pregnancy with him because there was tear in the placenta.  I now question WHY I agreed to be monitored so closely.  It was 1st trimester, and I was nervous, but there was no way to fix the tear in the placenta.  There was no way to prevent a miscarriage if it was going to happen.  And now I wonder if all those u/s's impacted his brain during a critical period of development. 

In 2nd trimester, I used an at home doppler to listen to his heartbeat.  I used it maybe once a week or every other week, and only for a quick minute.  Looking back, I wish that I didn't ever do that too.  I know that the doppler and u/s probably are not what caused the delays, but really, I cannot help but question and feel guilty about it.  So, my long-winded point here, is that I know it's difficult to go through pregnancy and not worry about the health of your baby.  But, if you can, try and trust that everything will be OK.
