closed cervix/miscarriage question (pic of dd's)

I have been bleeding with clots. went to dr she started telling me all about miscarriages. When she checked me she said my cervix was closed. Does this mean that it just hasn't opened yet? Or is there a chance I am not miscarrying? If this has happened to you what happened next? My blood test showed low levels and I go back next thursday to compare.

I am really sorry, but passing clots is not usually a good sign for a viable pregnancy if you have cramping that goes along with it, how are you feeling?  Did the doctor do an ultrasound when you went in?  (((hugs))) and thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I agree with PP.  I had to have a d&c because I wasn't miscarrying natually.  I had spotting early on in prenancy and everything was fine but unfortunately my baby died and two weeks later was when I found out and my cervix was still closed.  Hopefully with your situation everything will turn out good but be prepared too.  GL!

Saturday I was in the ER with bleeding that sounds a lot like yours. My cevix was closed and they even found the babies heartbeat. They sent me home to wait and see and follow up with my doc. Due to winter weather issues, I wasn't able to get in to the doctor until today. The did a f/u u/s and there was nothing there. My best guess is that Saturday night when I was having severe cramping and passing clots, but cervix must have opened and I must have lost the baby then. I'm so sorry that even if everything turns out well, you are having to experience this.

I am currently at this very moment going through the same thing as you, I was cramping all Friday morning, started to bleed ( bright red)  and ran to the doctor.. they did a vaginal ultrasound and as they were taking snap shots.. they saw that the embryo was in an oval like position in one shot, but in tact like the form of a perfect ball the next.THEY CHECKED MY CERVIX, and said it was closed and they hoped for the best, and told me to give myself progesterone vaginaly.  They took blood... and told me to stay in bed all night. That night i past blood and clots n all. I ran in today... seems my hormone levles didnt multiply like they should each week... i began week 5 with 1600 ( normal) and going on week 7 with 1641... only 41 points... it should have been way over 3200. Now i have to be in bed all weekend and the doctor would like to have me have the M/C naturally. He says if i do not bleed enough i will need his assistance on Monday, and i have another ultrasound to make sure i have past everything.

I know i sound cold, i guess im just numb This just happened 4 hours ago. I sat there in the doctors office, with a pad on, waiting  with other pregnant patients, and mothers with newborns... and i couldn't help but think while i was holding my husbands hand... that could have been us....
