closed cervix/miscarriage question (pic of dd's)

I have been bleeding with clots. went to dr she started telling me all about miscarriages. But when she checked me she said my cervix was closed. Does this mean that it just hasn't opened yet? Or is there a chance I am not miscarrying? If this has happened to you what happened next? My blood test showed low levels and I go back next thursday to compare.
