Trouble TTC

New here with a question...

Okay, this will be a post and run (I have to head to work in 10 and still have no makeup on!!! lol)...

Anyway, after suffering my 2nd m/c in October, I have been REALLY paying attention to all my signs (not just FF temping because my temps are nuts!) and it's come to DH and my attention that I have a rather short LP (9-10 days for the last 2 cycles since my D&C). My doc is referring us to an RE. Can anyone tell me what to expect? I'm honestly completely in the dark about what happens now... Do they just hand you meds or are there a series of tests you go through? How long does it take for the tests to be run? I know this might sound really stupid and I've tried doing some searches, but I'm just coming up with an overwhelming amount of conflicting info... I know I can ask my doc, but I figured I'd like to hear from ladies who have been there/done that.

Thanks in advance... Sorry for running off, but duty calls :)

When my obgyn referred us to the RE, I contacted the RE to set up the appointment and they sent me a packet of papers for DH and I to fill out. We both went to the initial appointment and talked to the RE about our situation. He asked us questions about our health history and background. In the initial appointment, he suspected that I had PCOS, so we did an ultrasound then. DH and I also had blood work done. Then we talked about next steps and set up the next appointment.

They won't just hand you meds, lol. You will probably have some sort of blood tests done and you'll be able to discuss what happens next. Your DH may also have a semen analysis done.

I hope all goes well for your first appointment!

Mine was pretty much just like this. We did a lot of medical history in the first appointment and she set us up for some diagnostic tests so they can eliminate things before they hand out meds. GL! It will feel good to have a plan in place. Smile
