Trouble TTC

question about monitoring schedule for injectibles

Hey ladies, I will ask my RE's office this question, but I am just curious about the timing of ultrasounds and bloodwork during an injectibles cycle. I was told to take the injectibles CDs 5-9 and then come in on CD 10 for an ultrasound and bloodwork to determine my response, and then the decision of whether to continue and when to trigger would be made based on that. I just realized that CD 10 falls squarely on the weekend for me this cycle, when there is no monitoring (CD 9 is also not an option because of the weekend). Do you think if I go on CD 8 (after only 4 days of injects) for my initial u/s that that would be too early and pointless? I assume that continuing the same dose on CD 10 with no monitoring could mess things up if I am concerned about over-response. In short, I know that probably only my RE can really answer this question as it pertains to my cycle schedule, but just curious about other peoples' experiences. Thanks!

IUIs #1-3 (1x unmedicated, 2x Clomid) = 2 BFNs, 1 m/c at 7w3d
IUIs #4-6 (injects) = 3 BFNs
IVF #1 = BFN
FET #1 = BFN
FET #2 = BFN
IVF #2 = BFP, b/g twins lost at 20w due to partial abruption/PPROM
IVF #3 = c/p 5w2d
Long-shot Clomid/Prednisone cycle before next IVF = BFP, our beautiful, healthy girl born 6/26/13!

Are you sure they're not open on the weekends? I don't know how they could run a successful business without being around those days!

Welcome to Israel :-/ Seriously, I shouldn't give it the side eye since we have awesome IF coverage for all as part of the socialized medicine system here, but it IS true that since SAturday is our Sabbath, everything is closed, including the fertility clinic. My clinic is also closed Fri (our weekend here is Fri/Sat), but in a pinch, I could probably go somewhere else for monitoring on a Friday if it were essential.?

  • my RE also does monitoring on the weekends, just at a different office.

I do believe day 8 is too early but they may have you come in, I am not sure.
