LO dx w/GERD..how to treat

Yesterday at her 1 month visit, M was diagnoised with GERD. He recommended a formula switch to Similac Isomil Soy and prescription medicine Zantac. I was reading in Baby 411 it says a formula switch will not help the situation, but gave several suggestions such as sitting up, medication, sleeping inclined. How did your pedi treat your LO's GERD?
