Ok Ladies... I'm not even allowed on this website from work... but I am.
I am completely freaking out. As you all know/don't know... I've been waiting to have my WTF from my Nov/Dec BFN IVF because the RE was out for surgery. Well I called today to check in on a date when he would be back and to schedule I was floored to find out that he ISN'T COMING BACK!!!!
The woman who schedules appointments informed me letters should go out this week, but he will no longer be back there. Um Hello??? You couldn't inform anyone earlier. What am I suppose to do now? She said he is starting his own private practive and I can follow him there, or meet with his partner at the same place I've been going to.
I feel abandoned! I haven't even had a chance to ask all of my leftover questions from failed cycle, and now he's gone!
I'm sure his (now former) partner is capable, but he was with me the whole cycle.
So now, I have to figure out do I want to follow him (which would add 30 minutes onto my already hour long travel time) or stay because I love the coordinator there and I'm established there.
Ok, that's it... that's my freakout!
Re: Freaking out From Work
Wow i would be freaked out too!
I bet ur RE wasn't allowed to tell anyone he was leaving, under the partnership agreement. Same thing happened with my OB.
Im sure another RE can look at ur file, and do the WTF...but ur right, it won't be the same.
So you have to decide, which is more important to you...the RE or the practice? What does you gut say?
((HUGS)) for your stress!!!
Oh sweets, I am so sorry you feel this way! BIG (((HUGS)))
Everything will be ok, just calm down and breathe.
If I were in your shoes, I would track down the RE that left, ask him the questions and if you really like him and want to stay with him...then follow him to his new practice, to me adding another 30 mins to stay with someone I like it no biggie. At the same time, schedule a WTF/consult with the other RE and if you like what he has to say better then your current RE then stay where you are.
Good luck!

That totally sucks that they didn't inform his patients BEFORE he left. Sorry you're dealing w/ this. I would make a consultation appt w/ him at his new practice since he's the best RE to answer questions about your last cycle. Then decide from there if you want to start you next cycle at his new practice or go w/ his partner at his current practice. Sorry if I'm not giving logical advice since I've never been through an IVF, but that's what I'd do.
Good luck to you.
Ugh, how frustrating and stressful! I would feel abandoned too.
((HUGS))
Best of luck in deciding what to do next.
well that sucks cutie.
i would set up appt with him at new practice and have your WTF appt.
i would also make appt to meet with dr at your current practice and see what he has to say.
then i would make the decision of where to go.
sorry you have to deal with this. ugh

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

That really sucks, I'm sorry.
My GYN left her practice, but I was already looking for an OB at the time. Unfortunately, if you want to switch practices, you'll have to request your records (at your cost sometimes!!!) and have them transferred.
I'd get your WTF at your current practice, see your RE at his new practice, and see how both these meetings go.
