Hi ladies. Well, we all know why I'm here. I'm usually on TTGP. Friday I began cramping and spotting bright red pretty heavily. I had no idea I was pregnant - I was waiting to O (confused? me too). Anyway, I took a pregnancy test just because I had no idea what was happening and I figured I might as well. It was the first BFP I'd ever seen IRL... and it was DARK. I had my husband take me to the ED immediately and they confirmed I was pg. Beta was 85. The diagnosed me with a threatened miscarriage and sent me home on bedrest until I could get another beta drawn Monday and f/u with my midwife. I did just that, and my beta Monday was 69.

I had been off of work for almost a week so I decided to go back today. I'm a nurse, and I figured the work and my patients would distract me. It didn't work. At the very beginning of my shift, one of my patients with mental illness was making Valentines for everyone. She made one for me that said, "Enjoy your baby. Boy or girl it will be just as pretty as you." She has been on our rehab unit for a while now and she didn't know I was pg, nor did she even know we were trying. But she has been telling me for weeks the Lord will bless us with a baby. I lost it right there when I read that.

Anyway, as of this post I'm still bleeding, it's gotten to be a little heavier and more bright red and still cramping - this entire time my cramping has been only on the left side of my lower abdomen. I've only passed very small amounts of stringy, bright red tissue looking stuff - nothing like the clots I get with AF. I'm going next Monday for another beta draw to see how this is progressing and then DH and I are going to TTA for at least a cycle before we TTGP again.

I know this is long, but I know you're all here because you're in similar situations. I hate to keep bringing all of this to TTGP because I sincerely wish none of them will have to experience what all of us here have...

So after all that rambling and my intro, I want to say 'hi.' I also want to ask for those that have been through a miscarriage... how long did the process take for your body?

I think that Valentine would've gotten me too.

I m/c naturally and bled for about a week.  Doc said up to two weeks is normal.  I'd recommend a follow-up with your doctor.  They can answer questions you may have (what's normal, when will AF return, when can you try again, etc) as well as check to make sure everything is out of you that needs to be.

This forum is great for support.  I'm really glad you found your way here.

I am sorry for your loss and sorry you have to join us here.  Everyone is great though, and we all help each other.

I started spotting brown mucus-y lookin stuff on Dec 24, but there wasn't much at all, it kept up until Dec 31 when I spotted a small amount of red.  Went to doc, saw the empy gestational sac.  Kept spotting until Jan 5 and passed everything naturally that day and then had what seemed to be a semi-regular period.  Yesterday I wasn't spotting anymore.

I am so sorry for your loss & that you have to join us here. 

I started my m/c on Sunday the 9th... I am still bleeding.  not as bad, but it's still coming.  I go back on the 20th for another blood draw.  I am hoping I will be done by then, but I am not sure.  I wish you peace & hope we can provide some support for you.  My T & P are with you & your family.

Sorry you're here i've found the ladies and their advice and support to be really wonderful during a pretty shi++y time. Hang in there, the support here is really amazing.

I can't speak on a natural m/c I had a D&C last week.

I am very sorry for your loss.  Regarding the process, Ive had two natural miscarriages...the first I bled for a little over a week and the second a week. I think the first one it took me about 5 weeks to get my period and this one too, I think (as i think i am just starting AF today).  That is very close to what my regular cycle is like (long).  Like you, I waited until after getting AF to start TTGP again (also per doctors orders).  Good luck with everything moving forward.
