I just want to take a bath

But my doctor said it was a no go until a month after my D&C. I normally live my life by the rules my doctor gives me, but this one is soooooooo hard. I just want to get a glass of wine, get in the bath, and read a book. Did anyone's doctor give them different advice on this?

    I just had a m/c today.  I wasn't told no baths.  Why did your doc say no baths for a month?

    He didn't really go into detail, but basically said he didn't want me to get an infection...I guess if the cervix is still open?! I'm really not sure. I plan to ask again at my next appointment.

    I think mine said b/c of the cervix being open and infection too (after a D&C).  I'm assuming the same goes for hot tubs, pools, etc...

    I am totally with you. My doc said two weeks. I just want to go in the bath!!!

    I wasnt told no bath. 

    After I found out I was having a missed MC, I got a bottle of wine and hopped in the hot tub!!! 

    I took a bath during my M/C.  I guess the infection part makes sense, but it helped the cramps.

    my docter said to wait until the follow up visit which is about 2 weeks i guess

    urgh...so tempted, but I know I will follow the doctor's orders. I'm at least happy to know I wasn't the only one told this and I haven't been holding out for no reason!

    OMG tell me about it!!  I love a good glass of wine, a bath with candles and music!!  but same here no go!!  Even before my D&E my MW told me while i was having the M/C to only take showers.  But i will admit like a PP I took a bath when i was having contractions before going to the hospital.

    I was never told this. We actually went to the Bahamas a few days after my d&c (to get away from all the sad faces) and I was in the pools at Atlantis for 4 days. I never developed an infection. That being said I would follow your doctors orders.
