I have a spice 'shelf' and it is not functional. I've been looking at spice racks for a couple weeks now. 

My main issue functionality and labels. I would need them to have some form of labels.

I have a cheap-o lazy susan rack on the counter that is less than useful and then a cabinet of spices that are mostly stacked but I do have a small double decker lazy susan for ease in the cabinet.  I prefer to have my spices easily accessable, though so what I use most often is put in the most convenient places.

I would love to have a magnetic spice rack.  Even if it was on the inside of the spice cabinet door, all the spices displayed so I can see them all at once and easily reach for them would make my life so much easier.

I make what I have work, though.

We used to have one that comes with all the spices, but we chunked it.  I don't really remember why, I kind of miss it.  I've seen really cool magnetic ones where the jars actually stick to a piece of metal mounted on the wall.

I kind of want to get a spice rack now.

I have a cylinder one that spins. Each jar has a label, although some have worn off with consistent use. It doesn't take up a lot of space and I like it, but it only holds 16 or 20 spices. We have more in the pantry.

The kind that sit on counters are gross and a waste of money. Your spices should be stored someplace cool and dark to protect longevity...and the racks on the counter tend to collect every bit of goop that gets all over your kitchen.

I'd get one like this that you can hang or mount on the inside of a cabinet door. Such a huge space saver.

I'm no help because I have all of mine on a shelf next to the stove - I kow you're not supposed to have them there. 

I think I remember seeing a great system on Stacy Ballis' blog: https://thepolymathchronicles.blogspot.com I believe she bought small tins from a supply company, labeled them and had them on a wall system, or a magnetic system. I could be making this up.

I bought my husband a lazy susan style one for Christmas (he asked for this). It has 25 spices and comes with free refills for 5 years.  Got it at JC Penny.

I have a spice drawer and it's seriously my dream come true.  All laid side by side, neat and tidy in my own crazy order.  Aaahhh!!

I don't have room on my counter for a spice rack so they're all just shoved into a cabinet.  I have a superb memory ::giggles:: that lets me quickly and easily locate the one I need.  And then DH comes home and cooks and moves everything around and fvcks it all up.

No lie - our spices are in Troxes. You know those red trays from In-n-Out Burger. DH "borrowed" them many years ago. (I was not very happy with him about this.)

They happen to fit perfectly in our tiny cupboards by the stove/oven. 

If I had my way, I would have one of those spice carousel things.

ETA i have it IN my spice cabinet. i have ramdom spices on the shelf above it. i need to be more organized. i might get another one for the tup shelf now,,,

My mom bought me a very nice lazy susan type rack.  It has a ton of spices that I never use though, like coriander, I don't even know what to do with coriander. 

 I am thinking that I may just dump the ones I have never used and replace them with stuff I do, I will just need to re-label that's all.

Send it to me! We put a pinch of coriander in our Taco Seasoning, plus I know DH uses it in other things too.

My kitchen has a pull-out spice drawer that I love. But before that I just had a messy cupboard where I couldn't find anything, and a spinning countertop one that collected grease. I like the risers you can put into your cupboard so you can see each spice clearly.

Oh there they are!

We also have one of these that we keep in the appliance garage - so nice and cool and dark.

::blushes:: thanks :-) I can't believe I've never showed you my spice racks before! They were a must when we did the kitchen over, and now I try to talk all of my clients into them, lol.
