Re: ~*~IVF Check-in 1/12~*~

  • Hey Mrs. Loos!

I see you are on stims! Best of luck =)=)

Update on me: I had my suppression check Monday and all looks good. I am set to start my stims on Friday!

QOTW: What does everyone do for work? Once you have a baby do you plan on working outside the home or being a SAHM?

I work in Finance. Since I have to work, Im hoping my company will let me work some days from home and my mom will watch the baby the days Im in the office.

  • Could I be added to the group??

My IVF consult should be Feburary 4th. Yikes! Hopefully cycling shortly after that.

    QOTW:

What does everyone do for work? I am a Benefits Specialist with a concentration in Federal Retirement Programs.

Once you have a baby do you plan on working outside the home or being a SAHM? Ideally- I would love to be a SAHM, but we'll have to see how the finances shake out after treatments.

  • Update: I started Menopur on Monday (in addition to the Follistim I've been on since last Friday) I'm experiencing some s/e's from the Menopur, sore back, bloated and  just an overall "blah" feeling. I'm also super spacey. I thought I'd have an u/s and E2 this morning but after Monday's they didn't want to see me again until Friday. I hope there is a serious party going on in my ovaries, I'm kind of over all these meds!

QOTW: I'm and esthetician and will continue to work part-time once we have a LO. My schedule is flexible enough that I'm hoping we won't have to do too much daycare, if any at all.

  • Hi girls. Im hoping to be added. I am currently waiting for AF to do a repeat hsg. Im on premarin and then will be adding provera. We are in the approval process now for ivf #1 in April. So nervous to move forward but so glad to have a plan with some answers and a great support group along the way! GL to everyone!

ETA: QOTW: I am a special education teacher. I travel to different non public schools delivering special education services to kids 2x a week in a pull out setting. I will be taking a leave from work and then will be returning. It is a great schedule to be pregnant in and have a newborn in. I will have my mom and aunt watching the baby, at least i hope!

  • :::waves hi to the hot ladies::::

Still stimming!  2nd monitoring appt tomorrow.  I am super bloated and headachey from the Menopur (I think).  Sending calming, quality growing vibes to my eggs!

QOTW:  I am a grant writer.  I will probably continue to work, but hopefully I'll be able to do flex hours or work from home.

  • Fingers are so crossed for you Ms.Mo!

Update:  Because of the cyst and my wonky day 3 bloodwork I'm doubling up on bcp's until the 21st.  If the thing isn't gone by the 22nd I'll go in and get it aspirated and still start stims on the 25th.  SO excited that things stayed on scheduled despite the "bumps" along the way:P

QOTW:  I'm a psychology associate so I do neuropsych, educational, developmental, etc testing with kids.  I plan to continue working but I'm not totally sure if I want to stay full time or try to drop to part time for a bit.  Depends on my mood and what my workload is like when I decide one way or another:P  Hopefully I'll have to make that decision for real sometime this year!:)

  • Update on me:  I'm back in the game!  On BCPs right now.  Will start stimming in a couple of weeks!  Yay.

QOTW: I'm a Human Resources Director.  I would take 13 weeks off and then go back into work.  I am able to work from home a lot so I would probably balance it all out.

    Good luck to everyone!

  • I want to wish all of you cycling ladies the best of luck!

I don't have an update at this time.  I'm not sure if you all really want me sticking around for now.  I am kind of in a bad place about my failed cycles and everything and it will be a while before we decide what our next step is going to be.  Let me know if you want me to remove myself from this check-in for the time being.

QOTW:  I'm a corporate attorney that works terrible hours for a law firm.  I would love to be able to be a SAHM if we have kids, but I know that will not happen.  The only reason we can afford IVF (and it isn't making things easy on us financially) is because of my job and because MH and I are pretty frugal.

  • Can I please be added?  I don't think you have a category for me, as I am not using BCP's due to clotting issues.  So I am using OPK's and as soon as I O I will start lupron 5-7 days later.  I expect that I will start lupron the last week of January.  I will start stims either 2/4 or 2/11 depending on how fast I O and then get AF.

So ER and ET will be either the week of 2/14 or 2/21.  I can't believe it is coming up so fast!!!  In the meantime, my SHG and mock transfer is on Monday.  On Tuesday we will meet with the RE, go over all the test results and sign all the paperwork.  Then next Thursday I will have my injects class.

QOTW:  I work as a school counselor at a middle school.  I do like my job and I am lucky to have off some in the summer - I don't have off as much as the teachers though, I only get about 6 weeks (I know that is still great).

I would LOVE to be a SAHM, but sadly that is not in the cards for us financially.  We make close to the same amount of money and it is all needed.  In the future though, especially when I hit the jump step, I will make more money.  Although, that is still 8 years away, so it wouldn't help in time for DH to be at SAHD.  We will need to find childcare - either daycare, a babysitter or family assistance - we'll see - probably a combination.

  • Update: Nothing new.  Still waiting for 1/31 to get here so we can meet with the new RE in Indy.

QOTW:  Funny you should ask... DH and I have been discussing alot about this lately given our situation.  I'm an audit manager at a public accounting firm in central IL and I also do taxes during busy season.  I have to work ridiculous hours starting next week through April 15th.  Since DH got a new job and we have officially moved from IL to Indy, I'm going to be working from home both preparing and reviewing tax returns starting in a few weeks.  I will continue working for my current employer until 4/15 and then no job for me.  DH and I have discussed it and both our moms were SAHMs when we were younger.  DH said if I want to that I can stay home with our kids.... I am just hoping I get the opportunity.  Then I'd probably go back to work after the kid/s are in school, but there is no way I'd want to work in public accounting, so I'd look for an accounting/controller/cfo job.  If we are lucky enough to get pregnant naturally in the next couple months or if IVF #3 works, I'm not going to search for a job after 4/15 and just stay at home during pregnancy and after.  However, if I don't get a BFP within a few months after 4/15, then I'll start looking for another job.
