Infertility

I think I'm finally getting over myself

I've really been struggling lately with BFP announcements and friends of mine who are pregnant. I don't know what happened, but this past week, my whole attitude about it has changed. It may be due to the fact that I'm planning some phone consults with several REs, but I'm so grateful for the change! I hate being Bitter Betty!

Re: I think I'm finally getting over myself

  • I think that's the nature of the beast. It's cyclical. There are times when I just don't know how I can be happy for anyone and have to plaster the fake smile on and then it's like I somehow break out of it. I think that sometimes it helps when we reach the internal point of knowing that "ok, it's really happening" and once we accept that, our outlook improves. Plus when you are on a break and things are going wrong left and right, I think it's just a combo of things. I'm much less a Bitter Betty right now because we're actually cycling again. GL with all the consults!

I agree that it's cyclical and I think we all go through it.  IF blows!
