Scheduled for surgery in a.m. (warning: ds in sig)

When my loss was confirmed last week, I decided to wait a week to see if I would MC naturally but scheduled a D&C for tomorrow in case it didn't happen. 

Although I've been bleeding for the last three days, it doesn't seem like it has been heavy enough to be nearly complete and I haven't had any cramping.  So, despite a lot of reservations I'm having the surgery tomorrow morning and praying that all goes well and that I will have some closure.

As much as I wished not to have to do this, I really am ready to make a big step toward saying goodbye and starting to heal.

That is exactly what you are doing having the D&C, taking a step toward saying goodbye and healing physically and emotionally. I am so sorry for your loss and having to go through this. I lost my second child on Christmas at 13 weeks and had a D&C. It is an extremely hard decision to make. But in the end it was a good decision for me. It helped me get through the physical part so I could focus on healing emotionally. You will be in my prayers. Let me know how you make out.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I recognize you from the August 2011 board and am sad to see that there are now a bunch of us over here.

I hope things go smoothly tomorrow and that the D&C is able to give you some sense of closure from this. Keep us posted on how you're doing. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.
