Cloth Diapering

Help me find the fitted love!

We mainly use pocket diapers with a handful of fitteds for nighttime (I have 2GMs and 1 B4). I really want to branch out into fitteds more but I need help. My GMs fit DD great....but they aren't absorbent enough. She can pee through them in no time (super soaker is an understatement with her!). My B4 last longer and I LOVE the triple snap-in but it seems too thin in the crotch and we always have blowouts if she poops in it. :(. Any recs for abram to try that is absorbent like a B4 but a little wider like a GM?

Also for the ladies who let their LOs wear fitteds w/o covers...do your lOs just hang out in a diaper all day? I feel like I would be changing her clothes all day long! It's too cold for her to be wo clothes at home.....maybe during the summer. Hmmm...

Re: Help me find the fitted love!

  • I have no suggestions for dipes, as gms work for us. As far as letting her just go in a diaper(without cover) this fall, we would put baby legs on her. I just got a pair of sbish longies that she'll wear after I get them prepped. We live in Texas, so I don't have to worry about the cold too much!

  • I don't have any B4s so I can't compare the crotch, but I would recommend Twinkie Tush fitteds. I have  couple GMs and a TT and although I haven't compared the crotch I feel like Twinkie Tush fitteds are very absorbent and the diaper I would let DD go coverless come summer time. She doesn't go coverless now (unless for a few minutes after I change her) because it's kind of cold and she's not very mobile yet. HTH :)

  • DS goes coverless when we are home and wears pockets when going out.  I am in NY and it is cold here but when he is coverless at home he wears babylegs or fleece pants.  The fleece is an absorbant material so if there are any leaks they don't escape onto the floor, couch...me.  But, I usually change him at the first sign of dampness or every 2/2.5 hours which is what I can get out of most of my fitteds, if he was wearing a cover, they would be good for at least another hour.  The ones I have that work well are piddle poodles, kiwi pies, doodle dypes, a B4 and GM's.  A Muttiqan and BSRB I don't like either the fit or absorbancy.  .

  • DD goes coverless at home a lot or wears wool longies. I put baby legs on her when she is coverless.

I would suggest trying Twinkie Tush. They have the 3 layer snap in soaker like B4s. I don't have a TT to compare to my B4 though.  I hope to score one when she stocks on saturday (if my pp refund comes through by then :/  )
