Recommend your preventative diaper rash ointment

I found Grandma El's preventative ointment, but looking for more suggestions too. My LO has some irritation, but not a full blown rash. She has been sleeping at least 3 hour stretches, so I think the KL0's fitteds are irritating her since she is in them longer now.

Also, what fleece liners do you recommend? I know you can make them cheap, but I just don't have the mindset to do that right now.

  • Grandma El's is the only thing I've ever used. She has never had a rash.

  • We use Grandma Els, California baby didn't work for us. As for the fleece liners i just went to JoAnns and bought fleece on clearance and cut it into strips, it took no time at all and I had DH help.

I just use regular scissors, right?

Yup, they aren't the straightest or prettiest looking liners but they work great! I love that you can make them how big or small you want too. Oh and something I didn't know when I did start using the diaper cream is you don't want to wash the liners and diapers together. It can transfer in the wash and end up on the diapers. We just throw the liners in a walmart bag next to the diaper pail and I wash them separately. I just wanted to throw that in just in case you didn't know so you didn't end up with repelling diapers.

Edit: some people don't have problems with Grandma El's making their diapers repel so you might now but we did.

So, CD safe ointment can still cause repelling? Bummer.

Do you use any stay dry doublers? If so, what brand? I'm looking at the kissaluvs cotton fleece boosters.

  • I recommend CJ's BUTTer for preventative. I've used Grandma Els and I like CJ'sbetter. I have Bummis fleece liners and they're okay. The work at protecting the diapers from cream, but they're pretty thin so I've been meaning to get some thicker fleece and cut that up for liners because I think something thicker would work better in her fitteds for overnights.

  • I use the GroVia Magic Stick and haven't had any problems.
