Care.com or SeekingSitters.com

I'm looking at using one of these services and I was curious if any of you have used them and what your experience was like.

I'm currently using a sitter service and you book with the service each time you need a sitter. If the sitter you request isn't available, they find you somebody else. It's an agency fee of $25 for each booking plus the hourly rate directly to the sitter  and a min of 4 hours. Over 6 hours is a $40 agency fee.

How does that differ to the other 2 websites I'm asking about?

Thanks so much!

Re: Care.com or SeekingSitters.com

  • I used care.com and sittercity.com to find my daily babysitter. I had to pay for one month of services and then we interviewed several sitters. We choose one and pay her weekly. I no longer pay for the service since I have found a permanent sitter.

  • I use care.com -  It is $30 a month, $60 for 3, or $120 for a year. You place an add or look at profiles.  I have used it twice - both times I paid for a month and found a perment sitter and then didn't renew.  I placed an add and got about 20 - 30 replies.  Picked a few I liked started sending messages with a few then interviewed the ones I liked best and picked a sitter.

  • We use SitterCity.com and have had a great experience with them. Two of our regular sitters came from SitterCity.
  • I've used care.com in the past & have found very good nannies through there. Highly recommended site.
