DS's new favorite TV show & a cool trick

is the Price is Right!

(flame worthy post for those who don't like TV for young ones)

But he likes the noises and he claps along everytime they clap.  It's so cute!

His trick is - when I put his bedtime books on the floor, and I start "reading" one (I know them all by heart, so I just start reciting one), he looks for it and picks up the right book and "reads" it too!

  • There's something about those flashy gameshows!  My little brother (mind you, this was 24 years ago!) was entranced by Wheel of Fortune.  He could be screaming his head off and when he heard the begining, "Wheel......Of...Fortune!!!!!!!!"

all crying stopped and it instantly grabbed his attention!  Whatever works, right?

  • what a smarty pants!  Jack also does something that makes me realize just how quickly babies' brains work and comprehend:  He has a couple of toys that sing the ABC's (the learning home and learn and groove music table) and DH started pointing out the letter flash cards we have hanging on the wall as they are playing - as well as singing them.  Now J will turn the song on and then walk over to the wall and wave his arm around like he's pointing.  He also sometimes walks over and bangs on the flashcard wall and looks us until we sing the song and then claps.

I totally understand the game show thing too - Jack will clap along with the crowd if sports are on TV and he's in the same room.  He does the same thing when we listen to music that is live with clapping in the audience (I have a couple of "unplugged" songs loaded on my IPOD).

  • haha, I love the price is right!! :)

and what a cool "trick" :) babies learn so fast it's amazing!

oh and even though i choose not to let Miss A watch TV i would never flame you for letting little B watch TV :P

  • I was a Wheel of Fortune junkie as a little tyke myself. Stick out tongue

And that's such a cute trick!

Oh, and no flames for TV - as long as you're not using it as a babysitter for 5 hours a day, I won't side-eye you. Smile

  • So cute!  It always cracks me up when E starts clapping when she hears other people clapping.  The book trick is amazing!
