How on earth can I get them on the same schedule?

I was doing babywise and the boys were on a pretty good three hour schedule sttn at 8 weeks etc. However, now I have one who wants to get up at 6:30 every morning and one who won't get up until 8. If I wake sleeping beauty up early he is so crankey and just screams until o put him back to sleep. My early bird is ready for a morning nap about the time the other one wakes up. I spend all day putting down and getting up all three Kids for naps that it seems I can't get anything else done. I like the 1-1 time buy this is getting to be to much. Combined my kids take 9 naps a day. Help!'

Re: How on earth can I get them on the same schedule?

  • I went through that with my girls around the same time. I couldn't imagine going through that with 3! Did you read Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Twins? I found it really helpful in getting my DDs on the same schedule.

I logged their sleeping for a few days to get a feel of each one's schedule. I found I had an early bird and a night owl :) I then decided what I wanted their schedule to be. At 5 months, they woke at 7am, napped at 9, 1, 4 (didn't let them sleep later than 5p) and went to bed at 6:30p. I kept putting them down at those times. When one DD woke, I would wake the other within 30 minutes. If a LO didn't fall asleep within 45 minutes, I would take her from her crib and keep her awake until the next nap (didn't happen very often). It didn't take very long for them to get in synch. Just think - day care centers do it all the time! GL!

  • I second healthy sleep habits happy twins...I would keep my LOs within a half hour of each other also...maybe you can let your early riser hang out in his crib for 10 minutes before getting him and then get sleeping beaty half an hour later...seriously I would not have survived if they weren't on the same schedule - they will adjust!

  • Mine just started to nap at the same time, I was always trying to get the last one asleep by the time the first one down woke up.  We just went down to 2 naps a day instead of 3 naps (EASY) routine and it just clicked!  We do wake them within 30 minutes of each other if one is still sleeping so they stay on schedule.  My early bird wakes at 630 and stays in her crib for the first 30 mins before we go get her and then we wake up the others at 7:30 and they all eat first bottle together.
