Infertility

Back from IVF Consult... and Ikea.... (looong)

Everything went perfectly! I met with the IVF nurse, not the RE like I thought I would. But that is fine because I think she knows just as much as the RE. As soon as we walked into her office she asked "Sooo, how much have you lost?" Her jaw was on the floor when I told her 45 since April. She even asked if I just did diet and exercise or did I have some help?

So, they are confident that I will be able to lose the last ten pounds to be at a BMI of 40 for IVF in the next month and a half, so we are going ahead with testing and BCP! I have the SHG scheduled for Friday, and the trial transfer for next Monday. They want DH to do another SA since it has been a year since they did an official one. And we will sign the consents and get the lab slips to get some more b/w next Wednesday.

They have a group of women starting up in the beginning of Feb, but they want me to wait until March to ensure I have enough time to drop the rest of the weight. So I start BCP tomorrow and I will be on it till the end of Feb and hopefully starting stims at the beginning of March! They also agreed that doing a steroid might be a good idea for me, so we will include that in my protocol. I am so so so excited. I can't believe this is actually going to happen.

I am even going a step further with the weightloss. My goal is to lose an additional 5 pounds by March 1st, so 15 total. That is about a 2-2.5 pounds per week weight loss, totally do-able.

And after the appointment my DH and I celebrated by making a sojourn to the Meca, Ikea. Got a book shelf, a dresser, and a bunch of little stuff for $170, not too shabby. So all is looking good!!!!
