I am almost 17 weeks and I still haven't felt a single flutter or movement. I know that 1st time pregnancies it is normal from 16 to 22 weeks. This, however is not my 1st or even 2nd pregnancy. This is my 5th. It has been 7 years since I have been pregnant and had a c/s with the last one. Could it be those are reasons I am still not feeling anything? I am really starting to get get worried and just might break down and buy a doppler just to hear the heartbeat.
Anyone other 2nd (or more) moms not feeling anything either?
Re: still nothing :( (vent)
I'm a 2nd time mom and I think I've felt the baby once. It's frustrating me too because I thought I would have felt him/her by now. I felt my son by this point. Grrr.
I can't really say why this is. Maybe an anterior placenta? My son was sort of a wild man in the womb, so maybe this one is calmer? And maybe a c-section does that, I'm not sure, although I had a vaginal birth.
I'll feel better once the little bean starts moving around more.
I'm 18 weeks today and only recently (past 5 days) have been feeling consistent movement. I was worried too when I was in my 16 week and not sure I felt movement but I had a doppler and would listen to the heartbeat so I think that's probably why I didn't get as worried as I'm sure you are.
I've heard some 2nd time moms feel something as early as 14 weeks, and I always thought I felt something but was never sure if it was just gas or not...but like I said, the last 5 days have been for sure baby movement.
If it would make you feel better than you should get the doppler, I know it helped me a lot. But just know that everything is probably fine and when I was as far along as you were (just a week or so ago) I was still not feeling movement either and I'm a 2nd time mom too. Oh and I forgot to mention I also had a c-section with DS, so maybe that's why it took so long to feel movement? Maybe the scarring from the surgery has effected it somehow and when the baby rises above the pelvic bone area then we start feeling? Don't know, just my guess.
19weeks today, still nothing. When I think I might feel something, I'm convinced I'm imagining it because I''m anticipating it. I try not to worry. Maybe I'm just not in tune to every little bubbles and flutters in my body. I just think one of these days my baby will push so hard there will be no way to miss it.
Hope you feel better.
I'm 3 weeks ahead of you, and I haven't felt anything either.
Chances are, you won't feel anything till 20-24 weeks, which is completely normal. The baby isn't even a pound yet.
