When I sneeze, I pee.

Ugh!  I feel like an old lady!  WTH is this?  Anyone else??  I've been doing kegals like crazy, but it doesn't seem to be helping.

  • Not to scare you, but I had the same problem. It got a little better a few months after DS2 was born, like normal, but after a point it wasn't getting better anymore. It was a real problem and I ended up getting bladder surgery about 8 months ago. It was the best decision I made and I'm very glad I did it. I would suggest making an appointment with a Urologist and talking about your options. Surgery isn't the only option, but for me it was. Good luck!
  • I was in physical therapy for the damage my DD1 did to me after birth.  It did NO good at all.  Then I got pg with DD2.  Here I am, two years and some months later.  When I workout, I pee.  When I laugh, I pee.  So, next week I'm seeing my doc about getting me an appt to have that bladder surgery.  I'm not going to live my life like this.

I'd go in and see your doc for it.  They should be able to help out.

  • BTDT. It doesn't happen all the time, but I have to make an effort to not pee when I sneeze. I figure after two vaginal deliveries that I am just stuck with it. I hear it doesn't get better over time.

  • My doctor said they can use something like a sling to hold up your bladder.  If I haven't had another one in a few years I am going to get it done.  I refuse to sneeze pee for the next 50 years.

  • I agree with Dai about making an appointment with the urologist. My mom went 30+ years peeing at various times. She was too ashamed to talk to her doctor about her issues. She was also told by a friend that it's just something that happens when you have kids. It doesn't happen to everyone, but it's not something to be ashamed of. You never know, it could be an easy fix. GL!

  • I just made an appt.  I hate that I might have to have surgery for this.  But I also hate peeing when I sneeze, laugh, run, etc.

  • I had 2 c-sections and also have this problem. Is possible to still have damage to the bladder even if you did not have vaginal births?
