One thing about this SAHM gig -

Mondays have turned into "clean up the house after DH destroyed it" days.  I guess I never realized how much he resembled PigPen from Peanuts until now.  The kids & I don't do as much damage in 5 days as that man does in ONE.

Is it THAT hard to grate cheese without crusting half of it onto the stove & counter?  For that matter, is it THAT hard to clean it up when you do?  Rinse out your cereal bowl so the cereal doesn't stick?  (we don't have a dishwasher)

le sigh.  'tis clean now.

  • yup. Same here.  I have always noticed how messy the house gets on the weekend.  You would think it would be cleaner because there is two of us home to keep up with it.  DH doesn't pick up after the kids...until the rooms are a real disaster.  He also leaves his stuff all over the house.  Drives me crazy.

  • My condolences! fIs he one of those people that's rough on everything? I knew someone that couldn't walk across a floor in normal shoes w/ out leaving scuff marks every.where.

Your sig is so freaking cute.

  • How frustrating!

My H makes a mess when he's home, too.  And then he huffs and puffs while cleaning up other stuff and putting it away "wrong," but leaves his own messes out.  I swear the man NEVER hangs up a coat.  And he leaves his shoes all over the place.  And he trieds to "help" with laundry (only when there's something specific he needs clean, of course) and does so by mixing strange loads and then throwing whatever's in the dryer on the floor.  OMG.  Drives me nuts.

Glad you got everything cleaned up.  I spent the morning doing the same.  Now I need a nap!

  • I feel your pain.

  • Yes and always! I always spend Monday cleaning the house. My DH is a pig, he never puts anything away - ever.

  • Yes & it's totally frustrating & annoying!  My DH does the laundry & trash (poorly I might ad) but absolutely nothing else, not even any yard work to speak of.  I can't tell you how many times I've picked up granola bar wrappers off the counter in the morning for example.  I mean is it that hard to throw it in the trash.  I steam mopped the floor the other day & DH walked on it w/ his snowy shoes 3 minutes later.  I mopped again & he did it again...I was at my breaking point & actually cried.  I hate cleaning & when it's not respected nor appreciated it makes my job as SAHM very disheartening...it's one of the main reasons I want to go back to work--that & the lack of control/power w/ the finances kills me.  I'm a pushover/pleaser & it's my fault in large part but I just feel burnt out at this point (SAHM for 6.5yrs).
