How did you and hubby react...

...when you found out the sex of the baby?

We find out tommorrow and not only am I nervous and excited about finally finding out, I am also very anxious to see my husbands reaction!

What was your partners reaction? What was your reaction? Cry, scream? Disappointed a little??

Is there anyone who expected their partners reaction to be different from what it really was after finding out?

Re: How did you and hubby react...

  • I felt from the very beginning that i was going to have a girl, so when we saw the anatomy scan i was delighted to see that i was right and my heart just started racing super fast!!  My husband, sweet as he is, cried a little bit for good reasons! he was so thrilled to just see the baby on the ultrasound moving around so much and then when they showed us she was a girl, he was thrilled to know he would have his little girl:) it was a very exciting and special moment:)

  • I thought from the beginning that I was having a girl.  It was just a feeling, plus I had half of her wardrobe already planned out in my head Smile.  We had an early ultrasound and are 99% sure it is a boy (hopefully it is confirmed tonight) and I was so happy!  I cried tears of happiness, I was so excited and not the least bit disappointed.  I can not wait to meet my mama's boy!  And then there was my husband....who was so totally ecstatic that he started screaming "I see a penis, I see a penis!!!" at the top of his lungs as it echoed throughout the hospital hallway.
  • We had the U/S at 16 weeks and had my dr. put the gender in an envelope, then I took the card to a store for them to wrap up one of two outfits I'd chosen, based on whatever the card said. We put the box under the tree and opened it up on Christmas morning. Even though I knew it was a girl (just had that feeling), I burst into tears and had a good happy cry. It was such a special moment! I think I would have cried either way - I didn't care despite just "feeling" like it was a girl. My husband seemed really happy (he would have been happy either way) though didn't quite have the overflowing emotion I did.
  • He was pumped... He cried a little, was overwhelmed, and just couldn't take his eyes off the screen. He was right and I was wrong about it being a boy, so he kept nervously asking me if I was happy and of course I was just as happy as he was. I was just pumped to finally know and see he was healthy!
  • DH was terrified of having a little girl, But I think he was expecting one. When we found out, I was a bit disappointed. While I am happy she is healthy, I know a girl was DH's fear (he had a very abusive child hood and he feels ill-equipped to handle the sensitivity of a little girl). But when I looked over a DH, he had tears in his eyes, and when the doctor asked if we were hoping for a boy, DH said "I'm just glad she's healthy."

    That was all I needed.

  • Mine was happy but a little disappointed. When we came out he goes , now that its a boy i was kinda hoping for a girl. He has 3 brothers, a 12 year old nephew and another nephew due in april. that disappointment went away quickly though. especially when i told him his room his going to be all sports!

  • I had a strong feeling that it was a boy but really wanted a girl! When we cut the cake my husband jumped up and down and screamed (yes I have this on video!) and I had a huge smile that just would not go away! On the video you can hear my husbands mom and sister and my sister saying YEAH! I knew I was right! And then you hear my mom say Damnit! and laugh. The best video ever! And everyone was excited and no true disappointment!
  • this is so not me BUT I scamed and literally jumped up from my seat (we did a gender DNA blood test and found out over the phone. DH, the nurse and I were on 3-way). I literally ran downstairs at work and yelled to everyone "It's a girl!!". One of the most surprising and exciting moments of my life.
