? about wool soakers at night

Can I put pj's that are cotton over a wool soaker?  I thought I read somewhere that you should only put poly (ewww) or fleece pj's over soakers.  I'm assuming they meant that natural fiber pj's could soak up some dampness?

I have two wool soakers coming tomorrow (hopefully!) for nighttime and I can't wait.  All of DS current pj's are organic cotton Hannas.  I haven't bought any longies yet, although I plan to pick some up as soon as I decide what to get.  Was I dumb for buying soakers first to try in the winter instead of longies?

Re: ? about wool soakers at night

  • We put cotton over it, no problem.
  • DD wears cotton footie pjs all the time over a wool soaker at night. She's actually wearing that now. I've read before that buttons can cause a compression leak, but I also use onsies and haven't had that problem. At most I felt the pjs feel cool to the touch but not damp by any means. Just make sure you have an absorbent night time diaper and that the wool is lanolized :)
