So I'm the first among my friend to have a baby so I'm relying on Baby Bargains for most of my advice. They recommend the Fisher-Price Rain forest bouncer, but on the BRU website there is page upon page of negative reviews. There is an overall positive reccomendation for it, but the 50+ negative reviews leave me a little wary.
Thoughts?

Re: Bouncers?
lots and lots of complaints about the toy bar/toys- they were complaining about the toys breaking and making weird noises, etc.
I really like our Rainforest bouncer. I've had a few problems with the toy bar but it didn't start until after SIL's 2 year old was banging it on the floor. If it starts acting up turning it off and then back on seems to fix it.
I have noticed that it works better if you have the seat and toy bar turned on instead of just the toy bar. The bar needs to be clicked in all the way too. If it's loose it won't work properly.
There are also 2 settings on the toy bar. One is to have continuous lights and music and the other is to have it activated when LO bounces the seat or touches a toy. If you have it motion activated it will only play for a little while, then LO has to activate it again. Some of the negative reviews could come from misuse or people not understanding how the product works.
Also, as many as they sell, there are bound to be a few with problems. That's what warranties are for. I wouldn't hesitate to go with FP as they have great customer service.

My BFP Chart
I have the FP rainforest bouncer and never had any issues with it the first time around. I just started using it again with this kiddo.
I have noticed that a lot of people who write the negative reviews are not using the product correctly.

You can't go wrong with FP bouncers and there are several good ones like the rainforest, precious planet and ocean wonders. We did not get an FP bouncer and I don't think DS enjoyed his much as the FP ones they had at Day Care. I would look at reviews but also look at the toys on the actual models to make sure you find one with engaging toys and that is pretty bouncy.
Good luck!
