Anyone have an IPad

I want to buy one for DHs birthday next saturday since he is an Apple Freak.

Do you love/hate it?  Anything I should know before I buy it?  I want to make sure it is worth the $.

We have one and we love it. The other problem is that it doesn't have a camera which is a total bummer. If the second-generation ipad I would wait.

My DH has one and loves it. He takes it pretty much everywhere with him. He's also an Apple freak.

I looked into getting an iPad since I can use it as a tax write off for my business but decided against it for these reasons:

1) No cameras.  This may not seem like a big deal, but I live far away from my family and would like to video conference with them and paying $500+ for something without a camera just seems ridiculous.

2) iPad2 is coming out (according to rumors) in just four more months.  This model will have forward and rear cameras and a host of other features not on the iPad1 for virtually the same price.  I'd rather get more for the same and be patient until April.

3) No USB port.  Seriously, Apple?!?!  I'm hoping Version 2 has at least one.  My tablet has two!

So instead of a $500 Apple iPad we got a $200 Android Tablet (The Boy's dad got it for him for Christmas).  It's basically the same thing minus some of the iPad's shiny bell and whistles.  But it'll do it's job until April comes and I see if the iPad2 is worth it.  But for me, iPad1 at this stage of the game just wasn't worth it.  Maybe back in April when it first came out but not now.

I'll have to look into this.  I might just get him something else for his BDay and then give him an early Father's Day present.

Just a quick heads up- there are supposedly "accurate rumors" that the iPad2 is just weeks away, not months!  They are saying mid-February at the latest.  I'd wait for sure.  Maybe get him a gift card to the apple store for an accessory and say that as soon as it's released you're getting him an iPad.  I think that would be a great bday gift and he wouldn't have to wait *too* long!
