Our babies haven't had an u/s since 35 weeks and they were estimated to be 5 lbs 4 ounces and 5 pounds 12 ounces at that time.
Just wondering what your twins born at 38+ weeks weighed, I'm guessing that they're both over 6/6.5 pounds now, but I'm thinking they're not much bigger than that?
Re: weights on twins born at 38+ weeks
Our girls were born where you're at now (37w6d) and weighed 6lbs.4oz and 6lbs.13oz. I remember expecting them to be a little bigger based on u/s estimates.
Congrats on making it this far! : )
Our girls were estimated at 6.8 lbs and 4.4 lbs (if I remember right) at 38 wks growth scan. A was considered to be SGA/IUGR.
At 38w 5 days when I was induced, they ended up being 6 lbs and 5 lbs 13.5 oz. so I was pleasantly surprised at the discrepancies based off their u/s!
GL!!
My boys were born at 37 weeks 4 days so pretty close to 38 weeks.
At my 36wk ultrasound est were 6lbs 10oz and 5lbs, they weighed 6lbs 11oz and 5lbs at birth.
Cut the Crap - Weight loss journey of a Few Fat Chicks
assuming there are no issues with cords, etc - there's no difference in weight of twins full term vs. singletons full term- so there is a huge variance in weights...
my boys were 7lb 15.6oz and 6lb 6oz at 38w1d.
At the 35 week growth scan they were estimated to be A: 5lbs 11oz and B: 6lbs 6oz.
I delivered at 38w2d and they were A: 7lbs 6oz and B: 8lbs 4oz.
Mine were 5lb 12oz and 4lbs 11oz and I was expecting them to be in the 6.5 lb range. When my H came into recovery he told me Keira was "petite" because he knew I'd be upset because I REALLY wanted them to be 6lbs each or close to it.
I started to panic that she wouldn't be able to come right home, but she got a 9 on her apgar, latched right away, passed every test and was 2oz above her birth weight when we left the hospital and she has always been my "tougher" baby.
Mine were 8lbs 7oz and 7lbs 7oz at 38 wks 2 days. I forget what was the est. at 32 wks, but their weights were almost exactly on the trajectory that was measured from 19wks on. The doctors in the delivery room were still shocked by their sizes. I wasn't.
Good luck for some healthy babies!
