I used sposies until he was healed. It was only a week after we got home and I had some diapers left over that the hospital gave us and some that I got at a baby shower so I just used those.
However, my friend CD her son from the very beginning and used fleece or cotton jersey knit to protect the diaper and the circumcision. Just wash the liners in the sink or with other laundry because the jelly will get on your diapers if not.
My husband and I didn't worry about it all and it wasn't a problem. We use prefolds with wraps and we just put the petroleum on and diapered as usual - no problems. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
we also waited, but like pp have said as long as you put some type of liner in between you should be fine. You can even cut up an old tee-shirt if you want. If we have a boy next time around I might try doing that gl

We only put vasaline on it for one day. The pedi said that once he started peeing we didn't need to do it anymore. All of our newborn diapers came out fine. He didn't bleed or anything. For that first day we used fleece liners then tossed them. I think we only went through 2 or 3.
