Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

I'm back...

THis is the 2nd time in 8 months that I've had to move from 1st Tri over to this board.  :(  Still can't believe this has happened twice in a row... Just had my D&C yesterday, and I'm so numb...

Just wanted to ask anyone that's had multiple miscarriages, how do you you know you're still willing to give this another try or when do you know when it's time to throw in the towel?  I keep wavering. :(

Re: I'm back...

  • What you are going through SUCKS... Let yourself have time to get through it before you start questioning your desire to keep trying.  It's pretty easy to say "screw this" after you've been let down so badly.  Focus on getting through this and getting yourself in top condition again and then think about it.  I'm 5 for 5 and ready to hop back on trying again... (no pun intended)

  • I'm so very sorry you are back here again.  I'm also still suffering from my 2nd m/c in a row (in 4 months).  It's been a month since we found out.

I know that I want to give it another try because I want a baby so very badly.  I see in your siggy that you had two m/c (farther apart than you most recent ones) and then were blessed with your son.  What made you decide to try again after those two?  I know they were farther apart...but something in you wanted to give it another try.

I wonder if it's hard for those of us with recurrent losses so close together to not be afraid of trying again.  I am so incredibly nervous about another loss.  I try to keep in mind my MIL who had 4 miscarriages back in the mid 70s and tried "just one more time" and got pregnant with my husband.  I've gotta try again.

  • Dont give up. It will work out for you. Even during these dark times (been there, done that) try and stay positive. I had 3 consecutive miscarriages over roughly 2 years...I now have a five month old baby sitting here. I recommend "Trying Again"- a great book you can get on Amazon. Im so sorry for your losses.
  • I am so sorry for your loss.
  • I'm so sorry for your loss.  I've only done it once, so I don't know about your question.  I think it's a person one.  I do know that 75% of women will have healthy babies after 2 misscarriages (85% after one).  Unless the doctor gave you a reason to belive that there is something wrong with your body, then it's all just a "series of unfortunate events".  I think you'll know in time if you want to try again.  Unfortunately it takes time....I hate that.

    I hope that helps.
