Hello... D&E yesterday

I couldn't have imagined yesterday morning that I'd be posting on this board today.  I went in yesterday for my first ultrasound at 8 wks, 4 days.  There was no heartbeat and the baby was measuring about a week behind.

Given the option to go home and wait to miscarry, or to schedule a D&E, I decided to schedule the D&E for yesterday afternoon.  The procedure went smoothly and I feel like it gave me some closure.

I am doing okay today, but I know it will be hard to get back to work next week because there are so many pregnant women in my office, and so many men with pregnant wives.

I'm so sad that so many of us are going through this, but it's comforting to know I'm not alone.

Hi and Welcome. I'm so sorry you're here, but glad you found this great group of ladies. I had a D&C yesterday as well. How are you healing?

Going back to work was incredibly difficult for me, but I felt stronger once I'd done it. I have a lot of moms and pregnant women around me as well and that's really difficult. I can tell you is to allow yourself to have breaks to cry and be angry. Also, ease into work as possible. Are you going back on Monday?

Lauren- I'm sorry for your loss, too.  I'm healing very well, and I actually feel fine today.  Still trying to take it easy, though.  How are you healing?

I will probably go back on Monday.  If I am having a tough time, I may leave early.  No one at work knows I was pregnant, but my team knows I had a doctor's appointment yesterday morning and something went wrong and I had to go to the hospital.  I'm sure they'll be understanding if I need to head home early.

Oh I'm so sorry for your loss   I know how hard it is, and I felt the same way about my D&C- it gave me closure.  I had to have 2- there were complications after the 1st one (nothing major) and was supposed to go back Wednesday of this past week... didn't happen.  I was supposed to go in today but because of the snow my appointments cancelled.  I'm still nervous about going back- it feels like the "last place" I was pregnant.  Like you, most of my co-workers were unaware of my pregnancy, which kind of makes it easier, but I know the few that knew will be asking.  Good luck to you on Monday- we're all here for you!

Im so very sorry for your loss!  It's crappy that you had to find you way over here but welcome and glad you did!  These woman are wonderful and are always here to help or listen.  Good luck on monday!
