Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Blighted Ovum

So on November 19th my DH and i found out i had what is called a blighted ovum...i had a d&c the day before thanksgiving. I got my first normal period on Dec 20 which is pretty cool i guess my body went right back to normal because that is the day i usually start around every month...anyways I had one doctor tell me i needed to wait two to three cycles before trying again, but my doctor that preformed the d&c and a second doctor told me i didnt need to wait...needless to say my husband an i have been trying =) fingers crossed...anyways my question for everyone is how long did it take you to get pregnant after a blighted ovum or d&c?! thanks so much

  • I had a blighted ovum in August. I talked to my midwife who said giving your body a chance to heal and giving your hormones a chance to go back to normal is a good thing.  But you can really safely start trying after your first regular cycle.  She had me keep up with the prenate's even after the blighted ovum.

  • Our stories are very similar. I'm sorry that we've had to go through this. I don't really have any information. I'm on CD1 of my first AF post d/e. You'd probably get more info at the PGAL board. Good luck.

  • My doctor told me I had a blighted ovum but never had a miscarriage and got pregnant right away? It's a little confusing for me on what exactly happened, but I got pregnant right away again. Which is great because I didn't learn the bad news until after I found out I was pregnant and had a dating ultrasound to confirm date and saw a heartbeat, allowing me to concentrate on a so far healthy pregnancy, but I still worry about chromosomal abnormalities.

i don't know if that's normal or not. Or if the doctor was all that accurate. But it's what they're saying.
