DS ate broccoli tonight and his face now has a rash on it. He had some broccoli a few months ago and had the same reaction, though I attributed to soy sauce (it was the broccoli from my chinese food - it wasn't covered in soy sauce, but I assumed at the time that that was the cause).
Anyone else's LO experience the rash? I'm sad b/c he really seems to enjoy broccoli...
Re: Broccoli allergy?
It is possible to be allergic to it, although not as common as other allergies. I would ask your pedi. I know that there is such thing as salicylate allergies, which is an allergy to chemicals that are naturally occuring in our foods.
Thankfully, DD is NOT allergic to broccoli... she's allergic to everything else, but not broccoli.
Mine gets a bright red rash with carrots. Same as you - we tried twice and it happened both times. My pedi said to wait to try again until after he's a year.
I know there are worst things in the world for sure, but I'll be annoyed if he can't eat carrots. DH and I eat them like crazy as a side dish - raw and cooked.
Happy Birthday, little man. We love you so much!
