Well, this year so far has really sucked for us. No baby, lots of debt, house value in the toilet, ARM keeps adjusting upwards every 6 months and now I got laid off this morning.

Needless to say, we have to keep TTC due to my age, but it's going to be more stressful financially. I hope I can find a job soon. First I'm going to Europe to de-stress and then I will start seriously job searching.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your job.  Are you in the field where you will be able to get another job within a couple of months?

I'm so sorry you got laid off.  Did they at least give you some type of severence package?  I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find something soon.

Geez- that sucks.  Any way you guys can try to get out of that ARM???  That sounds like a real monster....

hope your trip to Europe is fun though (I spent some time in Ireland, Amsterdam, France, and Germany before)  it was great!!

I am so sorry about your job.  I hope you are able to find something quickly.  MH lost his job in June, but he is working again and very happy for the change.

Enjoy your trip!  I sure wish I was going somewhere awesome like that! : )

I am so sorry!  MH got laid off in February so I know the feeling.  Have a wonderful time in Barcelona I was there 3 years ago and loved the city!  Gaudi's creations are so unique and loved the flamenco shows.  Las Ramblas was so cool walking at night (guilty of finding a naughty postcard there).  The tapas are also really good there I met MH over tapas and we love the food.  Have fun and de-stress in Europe.  There is no better place to de-stress than in Barcelona it such an alive and unique city!

&&: our home is upside down b/c we bought in 05 so our only option at the moment is to work with the bank to see if they can modify our loan to a fixed rate lower payment or just walk away. There is no way after my job loss that we can afford the increasing payments. Oh well. One more thing to deal with.
