Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Made it out in one piece

Well ladies, thank you so much for your encouragement, thoughts, and prayers. I got out of my D&C around 8 this morning. It went as smoothly as I could have ever hoped. It made me just love my doctor even more. The entire staff was great and they all knew I was a little nervous so they were amazing about everything. My doctor just held my arm and talked until I passed out (which was like .2 seconds). I'm really in no pain either! My husband is driving me to my parents (he has to go back to work). So I plan to just camp out in their theater room and bump, sleep, and watch movies all day. Can't beat that! I really feel like this is going to allow me to move onto healing an the next chapter. Thank you all for being so amazing!!! I don't know what I would do without all of you.

  • awww I'm so glad to hear everything went well!  i was just getting on to PM you to see how you made out and to let you know i was thinking about you!  make sure to take it easy today and just rest... and tomorrow too.  yesterday was the first day i didn't bleed (even though i got on the eliptical!) so the healing process can take some time.  just remember, this is the start of a new beginning for you and your DH and hopefully by next time this year you'll either be carrying a new LO... one way or the other! :)

  • I am so glad everything went well for you! It will be a step towards your healing. I know it was for me. I did the same thing, hung out and relaxed. It will help you have time from thinking, worrying and talking about it. I had a church friend give a me a book she said really helped her get through her miscarriage. If you feel like you'd like to try to get the book. It's called Empty Arms; Hope and support for those who have suffered a miscarriage , stillbirth or tubal pregnancy by Pam Vredevelt. I haven't read it, I plan on starting this weekend.

  • I was thinking of you today and hoping everything went smoothly.  So glad to hear everything did.  I felt so much better when it was all over.  Of course I hated that I lost the baby but there was something daunting that I felt when I knew the baby was inside me still not alive.  Now just take it easy over the weekend and take care of yourself.  ((hugs to you))

  • I'm glad that everything went well for you.  I had a similar experience and it has definitely made the mourning process an easier one.

  • I'm so glad to hear everything went okay! I was thinking about you today. It does help emotionally to know that it's officially over and that the healing process can begin. I hope the next few days go smoothly for you, and just take the time to relax. ((hugs))
