Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Question about natural miscarriage

I had a natural miscarriage over the weekend and it seems like the bleeding has stopped.  I had very light spotting the last two days.  However, I still have a dull ache on my lower left abdomen.  This was not an ectopic because when I had an ultrasound in the ER last Friday the doctor saw a sac in my uterus.  Just wondering if anyone else experienced this type of pain on one side of their abdomen.  I have another ultra sound scheduled to make sure everything has passed and I definetly plan on talking to my doctor but just thought I'd ask here too.  Thanks for everything so far.  Just reading the posts on this board has given me some hope.

  • I don't post here much anymore, but thought I might be able to help on this one.

I'm not sure if its the same ache you are talking about, but for the better part of a week after my m/c started I was achy.  The first couple days my uterus & cervix were pretty sensitive.  Beyond that, my ovaries had a dull ache for the better part of a week (particularly the left one for some reason).  I was concerned about it too until an u/s confirmed all was fine.  In hindsight, I'm pretty sure it was my body adjusting to the sudden change in hormones.

  • Thanks for the responses.  The pain isn't horrible and I have an ultra sound and meet with my doctor next week so I can wait until then.  I am just hoping the physical part of my miscarriage is done soon.  Emotionally I know will take awhile but I really just want my body to get to normal soon.  Thanks for the support.
