Shredding Group to Begin on Monday

Hi Everyone!

Since quite a few people responded to my post about looking for a shred buddy, I figured it might be easier to do check-ins and provide motivation/support using this forum.  If you are interested, I plan to begin the program on Monday which gives anyone still up for it some more time to get your DVDs.  I have heard all you need is the DVDs and some hand weights.  I also heard it is a good idea to do some body measurements before you begin as that is the best measure of progress with this system.  I plan to do that over the weekend.

Where are you from?  Boston

Have you ever shredded in the past? No, but I am very excited to give it a try!

If you have shredded, how did it go?

When are you going to shred?  In the mornings before my kids get up

What's your goal?  My goal is to lose another 10 pounds and tone up so I thought this might help!

What is your motivation?  A professional family picture in May and I cannot wait to do a shopping spree with my new size!  Also, dropping all this pregnancy weight has made is a lot easier to chase after my 2 year old!!!

  • Whoa how perfect! My husband and I were planning on starting it up again on Monday! I'd love to exchange stories and support with everyone! My name is Hannah and my husband is Josh.

    Have you ever shredded in the past? Yes, I did it before my wedding and started it right before Thanksgiving, but quit after a week or two when we got really busy. 

    If you have shredded, how did it go? I really like it! I've never got beyond level one, but it is the perfect video for me. It doesn't feel unbearable when I'm doing it, but I can feel it the next day! And I definitely can tell a difference after just three or four days. 

    When are you going to shred?  8:00 every night with my husband.

    What's your goal?  I'd like to improve my strength 

    What is your motivation? I'm really doing it for my husband. He has gained about 30 pounds since we've been married and his self-esteem has taken a hard hit. He wants to lose about 50 pounds this year, and this is something that we've enjoyed doing together in the past, so we're going to give it another try. My motivation is getting him to feel good about himself again.

    Have you ever shredded in the past? I just started 2 days ago!!

    If you have shredded, how did it go? I am really impressed with the workout! It felt amazing and I was really sore the next day!

    What's your goal?  My goal is to loose my pregnancy weight. I still have 30 lbs to go! I lost 20 no problem and now I am stuck!! I just wanna wear my pre prego jeans!! (Ya I know...I gained 50 lbs! Ugh)

    What is your motivation?  I just want to feel good in my skin again! I really want to wear shorts and a bikini this summer again!

  • I'm from CA I've done the DVD a handful of times but not consistently. That second day, the sore muscles will destroy you....beware! I'm going to work it in whenever I can, but really want to try and get it done first thing in the morning because I know that's the best way to make sure I follow through. My goal is to lose 10-15 pounds. Motivation is hard for me! I'm not extremely overweight and my belly flab doesn't greatly impact my life, so it's easy to talk myself into eating junk by saying, "Eh, you only live once," etc. I need to find motivation and willpower!

    When are you going to shred? Whenever I get time. I work 3 nights a week,so it will be whenever I can fit it in.

    What's your goal? To lose the last 16lbs. Ugh that sounds horrendous... 

    What is your motivation?  My size 6 jeans, my cute bras, and wearing a bikini this summer.

    Where are you from?  MN

    Have you ever shredded in the past? Yes, I did it for about 3 weeks (off and on) during the summer of 2009.

    If you have shredded, how did it go? Not going to lie, it was hard! It destroyed my knees, so I am going to do some modifications this time around. But it is a great workout. I didn't lose any weight (didn't need to), but I saw lots of definition and tone.

    When are you going to shred?  In the mornings before my kids get up or during nap in the afternoon.

    What's your goal?  My goal is to firm up all the pregnancy flab. Tummy, arms and legs. Gain strength in my upper body and core.


    What is your motivation?  I want to feel good in my own skin again. And do something that is just for me!

    Have you ever shredded in the past? No, this is my first time; I started today.

    When are you going to shred? In the evenings after I put little man to bed.

    What's your goal? I'd be happy to just get a little toner and in better shape.  Cardiovascularly I'm so out of shape right now, that I notice feeling a little winded to do even small little exercises.  I hate to exercise, but 20 minutes a day feels doable so it seems like a good place to start.

    What is your motivation? I just want to be healthier.  I was doing well losing some weight with WW and then found out I had thyroid cancer and had a couple rounds of surgeries.  The holidays and recovering from surgery really turned me into a big pile of mush, so I want to get back on track again.

    Have you ever shredded in the past? Yes but I only did 2 days of it!

    If you have shredded, how did it go? It was tough but I felt great after

    When are you going to shred?  During nap time

    What's your goal?  My big goal is to fit into a size 8 jean again (I am a 14 right now)

    What is your motivation? My son and a really bad fat picture from Christmas!

    Have you ever shredded in the past? I started it 3 days ago, hope I can still join!

    If you have shredded, how did it go? Tomorrow's day 4 and I can't see how I am ever going to make it to level 2! But I noticed I can almost make it through the whole 20 minutes without a break. Those push-ups kill me. 

    When are you going to shred?  During DD's morning naptime. Around 11am.

    What's your goal?  To loose 15-20lbs. Tone up some and loose this pouch on my belly.

    What is your motivation? DH and I want to start TTC in 6 weeks and I don't want to start off with less muscle tone than I had with DD. I will be less likely to be able to loose it after #2 if I don't do something now.

  • Hi All!

    I am so excited that so many people have decided to share their stories.  As I mentioned, I will be starting the Shred program tomorrow and then doing check-ins on this forum. For those of you that already began, congrats and keep it up!  Please feel free to share any tips with us newbies!

  • Perfect timing!! I'm starting tomorrow (Monday) and have been whining about a workout buddy on TB all week.

    Have you ever shredded in the past? Yes.

    If you have shredded, how did it go?  It went well. Lost 12.5 lbs about a year ago. Since then I've started and stopped the Shred several times. I need to stick with it.

    When are you going to shred?  In the evenings after DS goes to sleep.

    What's your goal?  I lost 20 lb last year, but have gained 7.  I want to lose that and maintain my weightll

    What is your motivation?  Knowing that I've been successful already. I want to be back down b/c we'll probably TTC #2 this spring.

    What's your goal?  lose and tone.  I lost all of the baby weight (30 lbs) within 8 weeks but have been stuck at pre-pregnancy weight since October.

    What is your motivation?  turning 30 in 2 months!

    When are you going to shred?  Evenings that I don't have bootcamp class

    What's your goal?  My goal is to lose 30lbs, gain some strength, and get toned

    What is your motivation?  I hate looking like this and I want to fit back into my clothes!  I'm too broke to buy a whole new wardrobe for work and play!

    Have you ever shredded in the past? No, but I'm excited to start!When are you going to shred?  In the evening when I get home from work, and anytime I can on my days off.
    What's your goal?  My goal is to lose 25lbs.

    What is your motivation?  Summer! I just want to be able to wear a bikini and not feel like everyone is giving me the "she should NOT be wearing that" look!
