When we saw DD's pedi for her 6 month check up, she suggested we start to ween her from her paci because she has teeth now. I guess I think she is still a little young. Has anyone else started to ween their LO for this same reason?
That seems weird, did she say why? I hope she wasn't implying it would ruin her teeth. If you do research, a paci doesn't actually effect their teeth until like 4 or 5 or something like that.
DD had a paci until 1 month before she turned 3. Neither her pedi or dentist was concerned, and it didn't effect her teeth at all.
Our pedi was saying if DD is using the paci to self soothe, when the paci is taken away she may use her thumb to take the pacis place and that will cause problems down the road.
