diaper ?

Alright so my DH and I have pretty much decided we are going to start buying gift cards so that when lo gets here we can use them to buy diapers, but obviously we are going to need at least one or two packs for when we first get home. so my question would be what kind/size are you getting? should we get newborn size? size 1 ? Pampers ? huggies? Iam sooo confused.

You will get at least a pack of NB's from the hospital...I think I got 2 packs of NB Pampers. Then you can decide from there when you get home.  Also, DS was born at 9.8 lbs and still wore NB size for I'd say  about a month.

We're using Huggies Pure and Natural.  After doing a ton of research and talking to some friends, that's what we decided to go with.  We have 3 packages of newborn and I'm sure I'll get more at my showers.  We're registered for 3 packages of each size so that's what we're going to go with for now and then by more later as needed.  Oh, and my friends that have kids all said definitely don't get Luvs.  They all hated them.  Hope this information helps!

Well, it depends on how much you want to spend. Our favorites are Pampers Swaddlers and Seventh Generation.

Just get 1 box of NBs, they grow into 1's VERY quickly...

Just depends on the size baby you have.  I was just at the hospital with my step-daughter and the lady had an 11 lb baby..  She would not be able to use newborn diapers.  So maybe you should have a few of each in the beginning

We loved Pampers Swaddlers for the NB stage.  I would start with a box of those.  The hospital will probably give you some, but it will likely be a small pack and most infants use 10-12 diapers in a day.

Ditto this. All the hospitals in my city make you bring your own diapers to diaper your baby. They don't supply more than the first few.

We have a few packs of Huggies newborn diapers. I pick them up when they're on sale. I'm also going to register for a couple in each size. We're going to cloth diaper LO, but we'll still need them for overnight and going out.

We have a pack of NB Pampers that we received at our first shower along with a big box of Huggies size 1.  I also just bought a pack of size 1 Earth's Best brand from BRU because I had a coupon and thought $5 made them worth a try.  Our plan is to try out different brands to see what we like best and go from there.
