Not too heavy or gawdy, reasonably priced stroller that will attach an infant car seat to it without having to buy an extra ($50-$60) kit to do this. Does it exist???

I cannot seem to find one. Just when I thought I had it was 31 lbs and pretty huge in person.

If all else fails I am going with the carseat frame and getting a normal stroller for after 6 months...

I've heard not so good things about travel systems and had a hard time stering them in store so will probably sway from them. Not to mention the weight.

Just thought it would be nice to have something to use for years rather than buying the frame to begin with plus a stroller for later on.

We went with "frame" route and also got a good (Maclaren) umbrella stroller for later and haven't regretted it at all.

Call me vain, but I just don't like the "look" of the frame + carseat. It looks cheap to me. I think the Peg Perego has a pretty good stroller that has a drop in carseat....as does the Chicco. I had the Bugaboo, but the inserts for the carseat were $44.

We have this one (in red though).  I have been very happy with it and we get so many compliments on it.  People think it looks fancy but it is really inexpensive.  It comes with a converter for the infant carrier and I really like how the seat can either face you or face out. 

I will say that we really only use it for neighborhood walks though.  It is kind of heavy and a little hard to fold down. We will take it with us if we are going somewhere like the zoo but for shopping at the mall we just have a cheap umbrella stroller.  I looked at it says shipping weight is 27 lbs. and the product weight is 35lbs so it might be heavier than what you are looking for.  I don't think it is that heavy though.

Up until last night when I played with it and realized it is soo heavy and big. It is really nice thouugh. Just not practical for me to unload from my truck by myself...

Do you happen to know which model? I sorta feel the same way. I wanted to avoid the frame too but if it's going to be the easiest route I might just suck it up. Afterall the frame still costs more than the $44 insert...

My only drawback with the Chicco is it looks to be the the same one that comes with the Travel System.

We are doing the "Snap & Go" for the first 6 months. Then going to get a chicco brand stroller once LO gets bigger. I have heard so many great things about the snap & go. How easy and light it is. You just put the infant carrier in and your are good to go. We got it as a gift at my work shower. It is pretty light and easy to manuever. I can see why everyone raves about it.

Why don't you do a snap n go if you're unsure? Also, you can get a BOB revolution. Yes you have to pay for the car seat attachment, but it's great for walking and running and for everyday.

I absolutely LOVE my stroller.  It's the Baby Jogger City Mini.  It's lightweight and I think it's pretty stylish looking with 3 wheels; however you DO have to buy the adapter bar for it.   It's the only stroller I have needed for DD.  

ETA:  It also folds with one hand.  I borrowed a SnapNGo from a friend and used it a few times, but I felt the City Mini was easier to maneuver.  The only plus the SnapNGo had over the City Mini was that it did have a bigger basket but that really didn't matter to me.

The frame + carseat does look cheap...and you know how I hate that ...but for now we are going that route for the same reason April is. All of the systems are impossibly heavy or just hard to manage. The Peg Peregox were impossible to fold up and extremely heavy for me to lift (I have a tall SUV).

The Chicco is the same carseat as travel system. I didn't like how the Chicco pushed, for me.

I'm going to go try out the Maclaren that everyone suggested this weekend.

It comes with a bar you snap on so it can take the carrier. It also fully reclines for infants.

That being said, I think I can almost count on one hand the times I used the infant seat in a stroller. I did it for one or two walks, and when I went to the doctor for my 6 week follow up. For other times I relied on my baby carriers...so much better than dealing with the infant seat. And as for "but don't wake up the baby!", if she did wake up, she almost always fell back asleep in the carrier because she was so comfy there!

Chicco does, it's a Trevi.  I don't know if it's fashionable, but it's functional.  It's an umbrella type stroller.  I was able to keep using the stroller after the kids were out of the infant seat.  It is NOT a travel system stroller and it is NOT a frame.  It's light and folds like an umbrella, with a snack tray.  I was also able to sell it on CL after using it with 2 kids for about 70% of what I paid for it!

I second the BOB. It could be the only stroller you ever own. It's not heavy and I can load it into my SUV very easily. Yes, you have to buy the carseat adapter, but its better than having to get 2 strollers. Not to mention, that you can go ANYWHERE with the thing.

thanks for the suggestions ladies. I thought I'd suck it up and go stroller driving. To my surprise I ended up finding this one. It is pretty light (17lbs), turns and drives SO easily and the assembly is literally one handed. Graco carseats will snap in it too. I just love that is is so light and easy. It's around the same price as a frame but with this it can be used into toddlerhood without having to buy a stroller after she grows out of the frame.

If we were big walkers I would opt for a BOB but since it will just be for mall trips and the occasional park trip or walking around the block this is great. Unless I can find anything wrong with it this just might be the one.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my stroller. Its so easy to get in and out. I hate the SNG with a passion now. I hate how hard it is to unfold and to be that isn't snap and go. Its annoying. The city mini to me is more snap and go. I love that it folds with one hand and so easy to attach the carseat to.
