Anything I can do for a cough?

Cooper coughed all freaking night last night.  We usually run the humidifier, but I think something isn't working with it.  Yesterday when I went into his room I noticed that it isn't really misting water...more like spraying huge droplets of water.  The carpet was pretty wet around it.  I don't want to risk things getting moldy or something because of it.

Until I have a change to get another one, any suggestions on anything else I can do?  We put Vicks on his feet, but it doesn't seem like it helped that much.

He he congested? Are you sure it's not allergies or asthma? I'd definitely dry the carpet immediately and get a new humidifier and make sure you sanitize it weekly and empty it daily.

Tylenol believe it or not helps Amelia a lot, it soothes her throat enough and cuts down on the coughing.  Your Dr. might recommend some cough medicine if it continues.

Unfortunately I don't think there's much to do for a baby with a cough.  My Cooper has gotten a nasty croupy cough several times.  Steam helps but sometimes it seems like the humidifier all night makes him cough more (it makes his coughing productive, but that doesn't help him sleep).   I'm sorry, it sucks.

We have one of these that you put these little vapor pads in that we put in Cameron's room along with the humidifier when he seems to have a cold, etc., and I think the vapors help some.

Once they are a year, a spoonful of honey supposedly can help.  I have tried it, but I don't know if it really helped.
