We get our 20 Week ultrasound this afternoon and I want to make sure I ask all the important questions regarding my chances for a VBAC. So far I know to ask for the location of the placenta and the thickness of my c/s scar. Anything else I should be asking?
I will definitly be making sure of all the basics like 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 eyes, and a nose. I am just worried that since the tech may not know my VBAC hopes that she won't tell me the information I need unless I ask. TIA.
Re: Anatomy Scan Today, What should I be asking?
I personally wouldn't ask scar thickness, as it's fairly subjective what people think is 'safe' or not. I don't think they measured mine, and I am fine with that.
Honestly, VBAC related, the only thing that I'd be concerned about is placenta placement. Other than that, I think just what you'd be interested or concerned in with any other 'normal' pg.

There aren't enough studies on scar thickness and uterine rupture for the info to be of any use to you. There simply isn't enough information on what threshold is safe or unsafe for VBAC, and what percentage of "unsafe" scar thicknesses would result in a rupture. At least this is my understanding of the research.
