What does LOL mean to you?

I thought for a long time LOL meant Lots of Love (I was told this when the acronyms were first started) then I guess it changed to Laugh Out Loud but I never use LOL because I seldom laugh out loud, instead I do a smily face if I think it was funny or good or trying to make it light hearted (so it doesn't look snarky) )

When you use LOL are you really laughing out loud or do you do it for some other reason?

It means laugh out loud and that you think something is funny!

I use LOL, but rarely *really* laugh out loud.  

I more often use that winky face................. ^

Pretty much this.  It's more than finding something funny.  It's usually if there is some kind of physcial response - even if not a true "laugh".

LOL - laughing out loud means to me when I find something funny.  But I'm not actually laughing out loud.  It's just an expression.
