PSA: Aetna members

Did you know that you can get the rates for doctors on certain procedures?  You can compare the cost of an IUI at one place or another, or even ER and ET.  It's been interesting to see the differences between each place.

And for people that pay a percentage, it'll give you an idea of the cost. So, I now know IUI's are paid out to my doctor at $85, so I'll be responsible for $8.50.

HTH!

  • Hey Hun! I have Aetna too... but I've found that the pricing on the website isn't the pricing I've received from the RE. There's been a discrepency. Maybe it's just by RE and I live in Ohio compared to you?  I dunno? But just wanted to bring that up!!! :)

  • That interesting-my old clinic prices matched, and so far for my new RE it matches too!

I actually just compared my claims to the rates for my RE and it matches up perfectly.  Have you checked that to make sure your RE isn't overcharging you?

If you go to Docfind, find your doctor, go to provider details-the is a link towards the upper middle that says "View rates for Aetna members" and they will have it broken down.

  • Wow cool stuff!  Thank you!!  It's amazing how much different pricing is different from clinic to clinic..
    IUI#1 = 09/10 - Canceled - Dx w/POF
    DE IVF #1= 04/11 - BFP
