Random Elephant Info

Did you know that elephants are pregnant for almost 2 years??  22 months for a normal gestation.  Crazy!!!!

  • Isn't that amazing? No wonder they are such bonded mothers.

  • Don't they have the longest gestation out of all the mammals?

I'm glad people aren't like that, though.  If I ever do get pregnant for keeps, 9 months will be plenty long enough for me to worry about every little thing!

Seriously, 22 months of that kind of worry would be torture.

  • That's an awfully long time.  It makes sense that elephants support each other so much through a loss.
  • That is crazy, I'm glad we don't have as long as that, 9 months is long enough to worry.

Dude, by hte time any of us manage to have a baby, we'll have been pregnant for way longer than that, just not consecutively :) Or maybe :(

I agree completely!  I couldn't handle worrying that long.

  • Craziness.  Though at times in the TTCAL process I felt like I had been pregnant for two years if you added up the time pregnant and TTCAL hyped up on hormones and acting pregnant for two weeks a month.

  • Oh boy, I can't imagine. I'm right with you ladies. Just get me through 9 months please and thank you.
