**MrsManner**

In response to my post below regarding IBS. I have been thinking about it this morning and realized that my problems always happen in the morning after I eat my wheat toast for breakfast. Does this sound kind of like your wheat intolerance? I am fearful this is what they are going to find out. What kind of testing did they do when you found this out?

Sorry so many questions.. It is just starting to click with me that this might be my problem.

  • They did a blood test to check for celiac. The results were inconclusive and the doctor really didn't want to put me through an endoscopy. I wish I'd known more about it because I went through hell with my health and I firmly believe that many of my problems come from issues with gluten. I was "officially diagnosed" with IBS instead and was medicated for it. Honestly, I really, really wished we'd gotten it right the first time. I didn't know so I kept on and on consuming lots of gluten. I gained weight, had all sorts of stomach issues like frequent diarrhea, heartburn, GERD and eventually delayed gastric emptying which caused me to be nauseated or vomit 10-12 times a day (which made me want to eat ONLY bread and crackers so I believe it was a crazy cycle). At one point the vomiting and delayed empting were so bad, they wanted to put a pacemaker in my stomach to help it empty. However, they decided not to do that since I couldn't get pregnant after having that surgery because of what it would continent pacemaker placement. Now I simply no longer eat grains, heavily processed foods or added sugars. I feel amazing, I have no digestive issues and I've lost 40 lbs. I could go to a different doctor and get retested for celiac, but you have to be eating gluten for the antibodies and damage to be detected. There is no way I would subject my body to that in order to get an "official" diagnosis at this point (especially since the only treatment is toneliminate gluten which is exactly what I'm already doing). Google celiac disease and see if you relate to the symptoms, then schedule an appointment to meet with your doctor to discuss.
